About Nev

Ahoj! You have found my About Me page where I will bore fascinate you with fascinating boring facts about me!

About Me

On the vast and ever-growing world wide web, I am known as either Knight Run/NiteRun/Nyte Scythe or Nevermoraven. Some people like to call me Raven, Never, Nev, and yes, even Nevvy, but I haven’t been called “Mor/More” yet, so you can be the first. I typically use Knight Run, but Nevermoraven is when those annoying sign-up forms don’t let you put spaces in your username.

I’m Chinese and proud of my Oriental…ness, particularly the food. I have been playing the violin for almost six years now, and it is one of my hobbies, though I can’t stand practicing violin when I’m in a bad mood unless I’m learning a sad/angry piece at the time. In that case, my violin is a sponge that soaks up all my rants and tears so that I don’t have to make other people feel bad by ranting to them. I also like to make digital art and photomanipulate. I write a lot of poetry and prose; in fact, I have another blog dedicated to my writing and art. You can find some of my art and random photos on my Photobucket account.

I am a Gemini and I do suffer from the split/multiple personality quirk. There is a calm and reserved side of me, the side that I show to teachers, before a debate, or when I’m really angry, ironically. There is a talkative, prankster, moody, brisk side of me that is more extroverted which I show to everyone except…well you know, people that I have to act serious around. For example, I would not steal my potential job offerer’s water bottle when he’s not looking, but now that I think about it, that prankster component of my nature really extends to both sides. In fact, my result on a quiz that I took…

Jokester Soul

You are a confident person with a strong sense of self. You can be loud and jocular, and you don’t really care who hears you. You don’t spend too much time stressing about how other people see you. If they like you, well, good for them. If they don’t like you, well, that’s their own problem.

People need to earn your respect in order for you to really start taking them into consideration. You might bend yourself over backwards for a friend or family member, but you aren’t going to give that sort of special treatment to any old Joe Blow. Your loved ones know that under that bold, brash exterior, there is a person who is loyal and even clannish at times. You will fight to defend your friends and family from any and all comers. With these special few, you drop that joking exterior and be your real self.

Your daemon’s form would represent your confident ways, your joking and insensitive manner, and your secret tendency for softheartedness. He or she would probably help you criticize all the idiots whom you meet on a day to day basis, and back you up when you are on the defensive.

Fittingly, my daemon Jascar (also known as Jazz or Jazzy) flits between a raven and magpie. He’s really good when it comes to laughing at all the wimps at my school.

I listen to a wide range of music, from Dev to Coldplay to Chevelle to Justin Timberlake. My favorite genres are metal, alternative, rock, and dance–anything that has a strong beat is good with me. My favorite artists have to be Three Days Grace, Flyleaf, After Midnight Project, Dev, and One Night Only.

In terms of classical music, I love Mendelssohn and Saint-Saens, but I don’t like Mozart or Handel very much.

Food Spheal

I love Chinese food, or any Asian food really, since I’ve lived on it for the more than the past decade or so (along with some frozen pizza). After that comes Italian food; I love pasta, especially seafood pasta! Seafood is my favorite kind of meat to eat. In fact, I could ditch lamb, pork, and beef for just pure shrimp, crab, and scallops, though unfortunately, seafood is expensive. Third place is French food. Ever since we had a culture day (we have to cook and bring in French food) in my French class, I’ve been in love. But the three kinds of food that I could live on for the rest of my life: grains (noodles, rice, breads, etc.), fruit (except cherries and pineapple), and seafood!

Congratulations! You have officially finished reading my “About Me.” And that’s all there is to know about me, I think.

Though BDG is not a blog based on technology, I would be honored to have you submit a guest post or two on my blog. Your writing is very organized and gets your opinion across clearly ^_^
